Lead Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Bristol, South West - commutable from Bath, Swindon, Devizes, Chippenham, Trowbridge, Emersons Green, Keynsham, Brislington, Longwell Green

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum incl. excellent benefits

Ambridge Harris is looking to recruit a Senior Assistant Management Accountant on behalf of our client currently based in East Bristol. Main tasks will be ownership and production of company P&Ls, working together with the team to deliver the monthly results, and delivery of continuous efficiency and process improvement.

Key Duties:

  • Completion of month-end takings reconciliations, and posting of sales and cash
  • Payroll review and summary review points
  • Owning specific branches P&Ls and producing their monthly management accounts to a high level of accuracy
  • Delivering P&L Reviews at month end
  • Providing clear and actionable P&L explanation and commentary to the business support managers
  • Reconciling the net sales figures at month-end
  • Delivering the monthly fixed asset uploads as required
  • Raising sales invoices and credits to clear intercompany balances as required
  • Loading the opening fixed asset registers once completion accounts have been reviewed
  • Ownership of notification of suppliers and manufacturers for branches when they join the group
  • Sending downloads of the pre-completion debtors account, and supporting documentation
  • Calculation of the pre and post-completion payroll splits, gaining agreement from the branches and posting the necessary journals
  • Production of the apportionment journal and vendor adjustment journals, and tidy up of the balance sheet

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA and actively continuing studies or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in assistant management accounting roles
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Excellent IT skills including Excel, and confident on various management reporting systems
  • Strong attention to detail, and able to deliver right-first-time results quickly
  • Deadline focused, and willing to put in the effort required to ensure they always meet them
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work well within the team
